Unfortunately we cannot offer tenors immortality as illustrated in Pat Achille's brilliant cartoon but we can offer you an opportunity to sing with a friendly growing and developing male voice choir so please get in touch or drop into our Monday rehearsals at Aughton Village Hall
On our successful tour of France and Belgium, the choir sang at Rouen Cathedral and the Menin Gate, Ypres (pictured below)
Sunday Concert at Rouen Cathedral singing "Mansions of the Lord"
Singing "You'll never walk alone" at the Menin Gate, Ypres
We celebrated our Anniversary Year with a dozen
concerts across Lancashire, Merseyside and Greater Manchester and completed a
tour of France and Belgium, singing at the Menin Gate, in Ypres, with La Boite
a Chansons in Cergy Pontoise, and in Rouen Cathedral.
Since 1974 we have raised many thousands of pounds through our concerts for many voluntary, community and faith groups.
The acorn motif on the Aughton Male Voice Choir logo is
based on the Aughton Parish Council logo.
It draws on a quote from the Doomsday
It recorded that in 1086 a Saxon Thane named Uctred, not a Viking.
He held “Acketun,” the first mention of what has become the Parish of Aughton.
The name probably meant “homestead” (tun) of
the “oaks” (acke)
