Andrew Lord - Director of Music January 2014 to Present
Andrew Lord Director of Music Aughton Male Voice Choir
Andrew Lord joined Aughton MVC in October 2011 as an
accomplished, experienced and first class pianist and organist.
He took over as Director of Music in January 2014.
Andrew's approach is inclusive, supportive and encouraging, and through his leadership and coaching at reheasals and production of "training tracks" for each of the four parts of the choir, he has provided the opportunity for members of the choir to learn newe pieces quickly and contribute effectively to concert performances.
Andrew is the
Director of Music for St Andrews Church Choir, and the church organist. St
Andrews is located in Mort Street Wigan. Aughton Male Voice Choir sang at St Andrews in 2012
and 2013. The accoustics are
The Choir and its audiences have commented constantly on the
quality of our preformances and in addition to the expressive, rousing and movin performances on local church
organs, which add tremendously to the impact and quality of the Choir's
Concerts and performances. On our 40th Anniversary Tour he played the magnificent four-part manual organ at Rouen Cathedral.
The Choir is grateful for his contribution to
performances and his skill, patience and good humour at Choir Rehearsals on a
Monday evening at Aughton Village Hall.
GDipMus - Accompanist
Joanne was an accompanist for the
Elizabeth Benson Dancing School. She took a Graduate Diploma in Music at
Liverpool (1981-1984) with options in piano, education and commercial styles.
For seven years Joanne was accompanist for the
Ormskirk Musical Society, a Musical Director and accompanist for Ormskirk
Operatic & Dramatic Society and accompanist for the Occasional Singers.
Joanne joined the choir in September 2002 and apart from a break between 2011 and 2013, and is a valued, respected and popular accompanist of the Aughton Male Voice Choir.
